I can’t remember a recent team facing as much consistent disrespect from the Associated Press (AP) as Missouri football has during the 2024 season.

Although Mizzou has been unimpressive, they are competing in the SEC with a 6-2 record. Following their Week 10 bye, the Tigers dropped out of the AP rankings after being ranked No. 25 prior to Saturday.

In all seriousness, Mizzou has dropped in the AP Poll three times following wins this season and has now fallen out of the rankings after a bye week. The Tigers have struggled and may not ultimately deserve a ranking, but the manner in which they’ve dropped this season has been surprising.

With the College Football Playoff rankings starting Tuesday, Nov. 5, the AP Poll becomes largely irrelevant, but it’s still interesting to see where voters place Mizzou.

The Tigers will host Oklahoma this weekend, renewing a rivalry between former Big 12 powerhouses. Faurot Field will be rocking as Mizzou looks to get back on track after the bye week.
