Missouri football suffered its first loss of the 2025 season on Saturday, falling 27-24 to Alabama at Faurot Field. The close defeat cost the Tigers two spots in both major Top-25 rankings.

Mizzou dropped from No. 14 to No. 16 in the Associated Press Poll, released Sunday. The Tigers now sit at 5-1 overall and 1-1 in SEC play after their first home defeat of the season, also breaking a previously 15-game unbeaten streak at Faurot Field. Despite the loss, Missouri remained within the top 20 as it prepares for its first road game of the year against Auburn.

Auburn, 3-3 (0-3 SEC), will face Mizzou on Saturday at 6:45 p.m. CT on the SEC Network. Auburn is coming off a controversial 20-10 home loss to No. 7 Georgia, while Missouri looks to bounce back and keep its SEC title hopes alive.

The last time these two teams matched up against each other was a wacky and wild contest at Faurot Field. Former Mizzou QB Brady Cook came back into the game from injury to help lead Mizzou to a fourth-quarter comeback, previously down 14-6.

If this College Football season hasn't proven itself to be wacky and random already, next Saturday could be yet another showcase.
