It's been a great start for Mizzou so far this year, as their offense has ignited the rest of the team, leading to success on every side of the ball.

After a 61-6 victory to start the year versus Central Arkansas, the Tigers turned around and handeled their biggest rival Jayhawks, for the first gridiron matchup of the Border War in over a decade.

That win agaisnt Kansas officially brought them to the No. 25 overall ranking, though fans and the team alike we're shocked to not see them on there, prior to the close of week two.

So, head coach Eliah Drinkwitz encouarged his team to ignore the rankings, and continue to wins agaisnt good opponents. It's clear the team listened to that statement when looking at their week three matchup versus Lousiana.

It's been years since Tiger fans have seen that much of an offensive domination by their home squad.

Quarterback Beau Pribula threw for two scores and ran for another, their top two running backs combined for over 360 yards and three touchdowns on the ground, and their defense held the passing game to just four total yards between two qbs.

Overall, they destroyed the Ragin' Cajuns, 52-10, and backups got plenty of play time. Sunday afternoon, it was announced that they had jumped two spots, to No. 23 in the NCAA.

It'll mark their second-consecutive week of being ranked, jumping from No. 25 last week, after suprisingly starting the 2025-26 campaign unranked.

Five programs who were in the AP Top-25 last week are unranked this week. One of those programs is SEC Conference foe, South Carolina, who were blown out by unranked Vanerbilt this past weekend.

The Gamecocks fell all the way from No. 11 to an unranked spot, while the Commodores jumped to No. 20, ahead of Mizzou. The Tigers face South Carolina, at home, this Saturday night.

Speaking of the SEC Conference, it is well-represented within this week's AP Top-25. Including Mizzou, there are 11 teams within the AP Top-25, the most out of any conference.

This week's Coaches' Poll, which has Drinkwitz's Tigers at No. 22, holds 12 teams in the SEC, as South Carolina just barley hung on to the No. 24 spot in their version.

Clearly, voters believe in Mizzou to continue to move up as the season goes on, with plenty of big matchups to prove themselves, as the year goes on.

The Tigers have their toughest opponent yet, with the Gamecocks coming to town, next Saturday, and they'll have to prove themselves once again, if they want to see another jump in their ranking.
