The Tigers are honing in on a top receiver in the 2027 class, and are now the favorites to land a bigtime playmaker.

Rivals now lists Missouri as the overwhelming favorite to land wide receiver Lawrence Britt out of Tennessee. He's the No. 118 overall player in the class and the No. 17 ranked receiver.

Britt has already visited campus and left impressed, and the young receiver was very complimentary of the Tigers.

“Missouri has been very truthful with me from the beginning," Britt told Rivals. “They have a plan for me in their offense. Mizzou has really amped up their recruitment as well. They’re a great program that’s building every year."

“Coach Peeler has a great track record and pours into his guys. I’ll get a chance to meet the new OC and talk to him about how I fit in their offense. Talking to all the coaches, they’ve made it known I’m a major priority.”

Mizzou is prime position to land coveted receiver in 2027 class

Mizzou currently only one commit in its 2027 class in three-star quarterback Braylen Warren. He currently ranks as the No. 29 QB in his class and committed to the Tigers back in December.

Adding a near top-100 recruit to would be a great start to the 2027 cycle for Eli Drinkwitz and company. Last season as a junior, Britt nabbed 44 receptions for 696 yards and 12 touchdowns. As a rusher, Britt had 52 carries for 299 yards and five touchdowns. The Tiger offense could use a playmaker like Britt who has the ability to catch, run and maybe even return.

The Tigers wrapped up their 2026 cycle as the No. 30 class in the country, and 2027 could be off to an even better start if they can land Britt. He holds offers from Alabama, Ole Miss, Miami and dozens more.
