The Tigers have been very inconsisent this season, and their 17-8 record reflects that. But while game to game their results have veried wildly, during the course of a game they are one of the most steady teams out there.
Evan Miyakawa complied his latest Kill Shot update, and the Tigers find themselves as one of the most consistent teams in terms of both offensive and defensive streakiness.
The metric looks at double digit scoring runs in games both for and against, and gives the team a rating based on their streakiness on offense and defense. Missouri is one of the most 'boring' teams, rarely giving up double-digit scoring runs but getting them on offense just as infrequently. Check out the chart below for the full range of teams.

The Tigers may not be flashy but they have gotten it done so far this season
This metric paints Mizzou is both a good and bad light. While they rarely give up huge runs to opposing teams, they struggle to generate them on offense themselves. So while Mizzou may not get down big very often, when they do, say 'goodnight' because a comeback likely isn't in the cards.
Even without the metrics, it would be fairly easy to glean that this Mizzou team isn't built for fireworks on offense. The Tigers attempt the third-fewest threes per game in the SEC, and their conference-worst 67 percent at the free throw line makes big runs next to impossible.
Still, things could be worse if Mizzou didn't have a solid defense. Their 'boring' style of play will be put to the test this week as they'll face No. 19 Vanderbilt, No. 20 Arkansas and Tennessee all within a stretch of six days. The Tigers likely need to win at least three of their final six games to have a chance at an NCAA Tournament bid.
