Mizzou quarterback Brady Cook expected to play against Alabama
By Zach Sweet
After being doubtful to play all week, Mizzou’s senior quarterback Brady Cook is set to give it a go on Saturday against Alabama.
Cook sustained his injury last week after being taken down by a "hip drop" tackle. He was removed from the game during Mizzou's first possession but returned just before the fourth quarter, ultimately leading the Tigers to a 21-17 comeback victory over Auburn.
His leadership is essential to the Tigers, and if they’re going to win tomorrow, it will require a valiant effort from Cook.
Cook, a St. Louis native, has repeatedly expressed his love for Mizzou, having been raised on the Tigers from a young age.
Even when Cook was originally listed as doubtful this week, there was always a belief that he would be ready to go by game time.
When the point spread was initially released early in the week, Alabama was a 14-point favorite. After Cook was listed as doubtful, the spread widened to 17 points.
It remains uncertain just how mobile Mizzou’s quarterback will be, but regardless, the Tigers are fortunate to have their starter back on the field.
