After losing two receivers to the portal earlier this month, a third Missouri wide out has announced his intentions to transfer.

According to PowerMizzou, junior receiver Marquis Johnson will enter the transfer portal, and will not play in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl. He finished the season with 28 catches for 340 yards and two touchdowns after getting gradually phased out of the offense over the last month.

He, along with fellow receivers Joshua Manning and James Madison II, will all transfer after the 2025 season, leaving the cupboard mostly bare.

Where does the current Mizzou receiver room stand?

Along with the transfers, No. 1 receiver Kevin Coleman Jr. will graduate, leaving just Donovan Olugbode as the only receiver who had more five catches this year left on the roster for 2026.

It's not too surprising these receivers are opting for the portal with the general thinking that star running back Ahmad Hardy will be back once again. With Mizzou likely to feature another run-heavy offense, there wasn't going to be much opportunity for the receivers to increase their roles.

Still, the departures leaving a huge hole at the position, and Eli Drinkwitz and company will likely seek out help in the portal to replace all the lost production. Drinkwitz had hinted earlier this week he expected a few additional transfers, and Johnson is the first since that announcement. The Tigers will face Virginia in the Gator Bowl on Dec. 27 before the transfer portal officially opens on Jan. 2.
