It's been a struggle for the Tigers to move up the official AP Top-25 rankings so far this season, with their wins not being valued high, leaving them to slowly move up along the best of the best, after starting the year not even within the top-25.
Oddly enough, it took their bye week for them to see their most significant jump of the season, after a multitude of upsets above them took place throughout the country.

The two biggest upsets of the weekend were No. 7 Penn State, and No. 9 Texas, who were taken down by UCLA (who came into the game 0-4), and Florida, respectively, both of which were unranked squads.
Both of which actually fell all the way out of the top-25 completely. A significant loss for two huge programs with playoff hopes.
Unranked Cincinnati also took down No. 14 undefeated Iowa State, dropping them to No. 22, and bringing the Bearcats to the first team left out, at a 5-1 record.
No. 24 Virginia also barley escaped with a 30-27 overtime win versus unranked Louisville, and No. 18 Florida State, and No. 16 Vanderbilt also failed to secure victories, though both were to higher-ranked clubs.
All those losses, as well as Mizzou's strong way of play thus far this year, has led them to the No. 14 overall selection. It marks their fifth-consecutive top-25 selection, not leaving the rankings since they entered them at No. 25, following their week one win.
The SEC Conference once again leads all conferences with ten teams rounding out the top-25, and another three receiving votes towards potentially cracking it.
The Tigers are also No. 14 on the AFCA Coaches' Poll, as well as No. 15 on the official CBS Poll.
The road ahead gets a lot rougher for head coach Eliah Drinkwitz and Mizzou, as now they're forced to compete agaisnt several of the SEC squads who are ranked here.
What could be their toughest matchup comes next week, in a home kickoff versus No. 8 Alabama. As long as they keep up their level of play, they should have no issue silencing their doubters come this weekend.
Slowly but surely, the Tigers keep on moving up. It seems as if voters and teams alike are starting to see this team for the threat they are.
