The NBA Las Vegas summer league has been full of opportunities, and the former first round pick from Mizzou has taken full advantage. Kobe Brown was drafted 30th overall by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2023 NBA Draft. After a ton of ups and downs in year one, Brown is showing his full skillset this summer.

Through his first four contests, in 27.8 minutes per game, Brown is averaging 16.5 points, adding 4.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists. The Clippers have a ton of confidence in their 2023 first rounder, and could look to find him minutes in the upcoming season. Brown played a mixture of games between the NBA and G-League in his first season with the organization.

Kobe Brown was outstanding in his tenure with the Missouri Tigers. In his senior year, he helped lead the team to an NCAA tournament appearance, averaging nearly 16 points per game. Every year Brown seems to continue developing, and the Clippers took a chance on him in the 2023 NBA Draft.

In Thursday's contest against the Utah Jazz, Brown helped lead the Clippers to a 105-88 victory. He scored 22 points, shooting 7-of-14 from the field. Brown added four rebounds, six assists, and a block. With a 4-0 record, the Clippers summer league team is in a position to advance to the semi-finals.

Typically first round picks will spend two summers in the Vegas league, and Brown recalls missing the playoffs due to point differential last year. He made an emphasis to continue scoring even when games seem out of reach this time around.

"I told some of our coaches before we even got to training camp: first thing I'm telling the team that we didn't do last year is no matter what the score is, we're gonna keep scoring til the buzzer sounds. That's how we didn't get into the playoffs last year. It was definitely a focal point of ours.""

It will be fun to watch the development of Brown over the summer and beyond as he continues seeking opportunities in the Clippers organization. The next game for Los Angeles has yet to be announced, but it will come sometime on Sunday July 21st, hopefully in the semi-finals.
