With College Football 25 just over a week away, things are beginning to feel real ahead of the long awaited return. On Wednesday morning, EA sports released their top-100 overall players in the game, along with their ratings.

Missouri had just one player featured in the game's top-100 players. Luther Burden came in as the 11th highest rated player in the game. The superstar was given a 94 overall rating. He is the second highest ranked wide receiver in the game, trailing only Travis Hunter (Colorado).

Burden's specific attributes were also released by EA. He will feature a 94 speed, 95 acceleration, 77 strength, 95 awareness, and 92 jump. College football fans, and obviously Missouri faithful, will enjoy using the second highest rated receiver in the game.

All players revealed in the top ten were 95 overall or higher. It's important to note, these ratings were made by video game creators, and not necessarily college football experts. One would have to think that within the ratings, some players had slight biases, as EA attempts to market the game to the best of their ability. Not going to name drop, but potentially multiple players on a team that had four wins last season.

Brady Cook did not make it in the game's top-100 players. It will be interesting to see his rating when the game releases next week. There were eight quarterbacks that made it into the top-100, all of whom were rated between 90-93 overall. Given the 100th ranked player's rating of a 90 overall, Cook could still be in the upper-80s, which is where he should end up being rated.

Regardless, the highly anticipated video game is set to make its return after an eleven year absence. Set to come out July 19th, it will surely be one of the most profitable video games of 2024. Football fans have long awaited the return of EA's infamous game.
