With the MLB Draft now in the past, Missouri baseball can re-evaluate their roster and continue adding depth in the dog days of summer. Last week, two Mizzou commits opted to sign with MLB teams after being drafted. This opened up an opportunity for the team to be aggressive in the current recruiting circuit.
On Monday afternoon, a 2025 graduate, Quinn Carson, announced his commitment to Mizzou via social media. The talented outfielder is a native of Oakville, ON, which is located in Canada. He has been playing high school baseball for St. Ignatius of Loyola.
Carson's 6-foot-3, 195 pound frame coming out of high school definitely plays a major part in his recruitment. He has "lots of now strength & good power projection, overall solid tools." The 2025 outfielder will likely make an impact for Missouri in the near future.
At a national showcase event on July 8th, Carson displayed solid fielding abilities. He runs a 6.70 sixty-yard dash, and has a great all around skillset.
Perfect Game wrote, "aggressive through the ball in the outfield, has clean glove work and good glove position out front, makes on line accurate throws from an upright release, solid overall outfield fundamentals and tools."
Kerrick Jackson is going into his second year as the head-coach of the Tigers. He'll look to change the program in a major way, getting back to winning form. Coming off of a season where they finished 23-32 overall, Jackson could find his way into the hot-seat early if unsuccessful.
