It has been 11 years since an EA sports college football game has been released. With the legalization of NIL, it has been an eager couple of years for fans of the sport awaiting this release. EA Sports College Football 25 is one of the most anticipated video games of the last decade. The release date is set for July 19th, just over two weeks from now.

With the countdown beginning to dwindle, EA has been releasing some sets of power rankings. First we got the offensive rankings, followed by the defensive, and then just four days ago we received the first preseason team power rankings. And with that, some teams were disrespected in the process, Missouri being among the biggest.

Missouri was left out of the top 25 in these power rankings. This came to the surprise of most people, gaining traction across the college football fanbase. For a team who figures to start the season in the top 10, to be left out of these rankings was definitely a surprise to most people.

Missouri is a team who embodies being slept on. Last season they infamously lived off the motto "something to prove". It will be interesting to see if they use this as any sort of added motivation this year. Missouri is in a good position as a program, so being left off these rankings shouldn't discourage fans too much.

Some of the other surprises include Colorado and Virginia Tech both being overrated. While another surprise was Missouri's fellow SEC foe Tennessee being left off the rankings. Obviously fans of the sport have their opinions, but nobody will really know anything until the season begins at the end of August.

It will fun to see the opinions of fans once the game comes out. Many are wondering how EA will differentiate the college game from madden. Will the gameplay be similar to the 2014 version? Only time will tell, but anticipation is through the roof for this release.
