With football season inching closer by the day, let's take a look at the upcoming schedule for Mizzou. Coming into the 2024 season, it's a consensus opinion that Mizzou's schedule is extremely light for an SEC program. With a weak non-conference, and avoiding the likes of Georgia, Texas, and Ole Miss, everything seems to be aligning at the perfect time.

With all of that being said, the Missouri Tigers still compete in the toughest conference in college football. They are bound to run into some difficult games. Here's a look at the three toughest matchups for Mizzou football in 2024.

1. Missouri at Alabama (Oct. 26)

This one figures to be a doozy, as if all goes to plan for both teams, it'll likely be a top-ten matchup in Tuscaloosa. Despite the loss of legendary head coach, Nick Saban, the Crimson Tide will still be returning a ton of talent. Alabama is ranked number two in the country for incoming talent, between the transfer portal and recruiting circuit. They'll come into the 2024 season in the preseason top-ten, and potentially even the top five. This figures to be Missouri's toughest challenge on the schedule. The Tigers haven't beaten Alabama since 1975, when they won 20-7 in a road game held in Birmingham. With Missouri's football program reaching new levels, this figures to be their best opportunity at pulling one off against Alabama.

2. Missouri vs Oklahoma (Nov. 9)

The renewal of this rivalry has been in the works for years, and with Oklahoma moving to the SEC ahead of this season, we've been blessed with an early November conference matchup. Oklahoma's expectations this year are a bit lower than normal, but both programs figure to be in the top-25 when they meet in Columbia. With both a new quarterback, and more competitive conference, it'll be interesting to see how OU adjusts ahead of 2024. There's a general consensus across the nation that Oklahoma must prove their value in the SEC, and they have an ideal opportunity to do that when they come to Mizzou. This game figures to be one of the toughest for the Tigers, and you can bet the atmosphere will match this games magnitude.

3. Mizzou at Texas A&M (Oct. 5)

Texas A&M came to the SEC along side Mizzou back in 2012, but the teams have met just four times since. Missouri will take their first trip to College Station since 2014, when they defeated A&M 34-27. At a capacity north of 100,000, Kyle Field is one of the most difficult places to play in the entire country. Texas A&M comes into the 2024 season with a new head coach in Mike Elko, and an entirely different coaching staff around him. After a lowly 7-and-6 record last season, A&M will have a completely different look. Their roster was completely restructured this off-season, with a number of new additions and departures via the transfer portal. Regardless of who the Aggies send out on the field, making the trip to Kyle Field figures to be a big test for Mizzou in 2024, and will Ilikely be one of their three most challenging games.
