Before long, we’ll be waking up on Saturday mornings and tuning in to the beloved College GameDay on ESPN to kick off each week’s slate of games.
And this year could be a special one for the Missouri Tigers as they look to build on back-to-back 10-win seasons.
Things will certainly kick off with a bang in nonconference play, as Missouri renews its rivalry with Kansas for the first time since a 24-10 victory on Nov. 26, 2011.
The two programs are set to meet again on Sept. 6 at Faurot Field in Columbia, Missouri, in what’s expected to be one of Missouri’s biggest home games in recent memory.
ESPN’s College GameDay — the weekly show that travels to the most compelling college football venue each Saturday — could make its way to Columbia, Missouri, for just the second time ever this fall. The show’s only previous visit came on Oct. 23, 2010, when Mizzou hosted Oklahoma for its homecoming game.
With a lighter slate of games in Week 2 of the 2025 season, the Mizzou-Kansas matchup is expected to be a top contender to host College GameDay.
College GameDay will have a different look this season with the absence of longtime personality Lee Corso, who announced his retirement at age 89. Corso had been with the show since its debut in 1987. His final appearance is scheduled for the week prior, in Columbus, Ohio.
Last season marked the debut of a new analyst on the show — former Alabama head coach Nick Saban — who quickly impressed in his first year with the College GameDay crew.
It remains to be seen where College GameDay will land in Week 2, but Missouri certainly stands out as a prime destination for its rivalry matchup against Kansas.
