Missouri has landed their fifth and sixth commitment of the transfer cycle, landing a big-bodied safety from Notre Dame, and a promising running back out of Houston Christian.
According to Hayes Fawcett, the Tigers have added true freshman safety JaDon Blair. The 6-foot-5, 215-pound safety still has four years of eligibility remaining.
And according to Matt Zenitz, the Tigers have also gained a commitment from running back Xai’Shaun Edwards, who ran for 1,019 yards and 12 touchdowns this season.
Tigers add two young talents in latest portal additions
The Tigers got two pieces of good news at safety on Tuesday, with the addition of Blair, and the unexpected return of CJ Bass III, who withdrew his name from the portal. Their newest member, Blair, was a four-star recruit in the 2025 class, and brings impressive size at the position for Mizzou. He played just 20 snaps last season for the Fighting Irish, but will now have plenty of opportunity to win some playing time with the Tigers who lost some key contributors.
Meanwhile, Edwards received FCS Freshman All-American honors, and will round out what is debatably the best running back room in the country with Ahmad Hardy and Jamal Roberts. He had an offer from Missouri coming out of high school, but instead opted for the FCS route. Now, he ends up in Columbia anyway.
Mizzou is off to a strong start in the portal. Despite the shocking loss of Damon Wilson II, they've been able to secure six commitments over the past two days, and already have a top-15 ranked class so far.
