Head coach Eliah Drinkwitz and the Mizzou Tigers have a hot, 2-0, start to their 2025-26 campaign. Despite playing two teams that aren't expected to be very competitive this season, they did a fantastic job of taking advantage of the moment, putting up significant points in each matchup.
They also solidified starters on both sides of the ball, and have used every snap to evaluate what game-plan will work the best for the squad for the latter half of the season.
It only took two monster wins for Mizzou to find themselves as an AP Top-25 ranked program, sitting right at No. 25, with several analysts expecting them to make an even further leap, in the weeks to come.

So far this season, the Tigers dismantled Central Arkansas 61-6 to kickoff the year, followed by an exciting home victory over their rival Kansas, in the first Border War showdown on a football field since 2011.
Beyond the feats in the win column, Drinkwitz has also found his man under center, with the emergence of quaterback Beau Pribula, as well as the unfortunate injury to veteran Sam Horn, and the transition from Brady Cook to Pribula has looked incredibly smooth thus far.
Mizzou has also seen their offensive line dominate after struggling in the opener, as well as their top two running backs, Ahmad Hardy and Jamal Roberts have career nights, and become backs that the offense can lean on, when they cannot find success in the passing game.
These wins and consistent play was enough for voters to place them into the final spot on this week's rankings.
The Tigers are still on the outside looking in on the USA Today Coaches Poll, however they did move up a couple spots, to No. 26.
They'll no doubt look to capitalize on their impressive start, with another home matchup, this time versus 1-1 Louisiana Lafayette, on Saturday afternoon.
