Mizzou is finally on the board after going the first three days of the portal window without a commitment.
The Tigers have landed Oregon transfer Jahlil Florence according to Cody Goodwin and 247Sports. The 6-foot-1 cornerback is a former four-star recruit, and spent the last four years with the Ducks. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Tigers grab a former top-100 players with first portal add
It took some time for Eli Drinkwitz and company to secure their first portal commitment, but it's at a huge position of need. After losing most of the cornerback room to graduations and transfers, the Tigers were in need of several cornerbacks to replace the departures. They're off to a good start with Florence.
Florence has spent the last four years with Oregon, but hasn't played much since 2023. In 2024, he redshirted due to a knee injury, and then played in just one game in 2025. Before that, he was a four-star recruit and a top-100 player, earning offers from Michigan, USC and more before eventually signing with the Ducks. He has 35 career tackles, one sack, and two interceptions with one of those picks off of now NFL quarterback Michael Penix Jr.
While Florence is a nice add to kickoff the portal window, Mizzou will likely still need to add two or three more corners over the next two weeks. The Tigers have multiple visits planned for this various players this week, and more commitments should start rolling in after the slow start.
