It has been a long offseason for head coach Dennis Gates and the Missouri Tigers. Coming off a very impressive 2024-25 turnaround of a season from the one prior, expectations are at an all-time high for a program hungry to win it all.

Last season, the team started strong, had some statement wins throughout the course of the regular season, before falling quickly towards the end, leading to a quick, first round exit in an upset loss to Drake.

This season, the team brought in a number of transfers, including guard Sebastian Mack, and big man Jevon Porter, the brother of former Tiger and now Denver Nugget Micheal Porter Jr..

This season provides another opportunity for guys like Mark Mitchell and Anthony Robinson II to take the next step up, after breakout seasons for Gates's club last year.

With the season starting in just a few weeks, exhibition games have been tipping off all over the country.

Mizzou's upcoming contest will be the first chance fans have to take a look at how the team has progressed this offseason.

The contest will tip-off versus the Wildcats on Friday night at 9 pm central from Mizzou Arena. Starters are expected to play, with realistic minutes predicted for all of Gates's guys.

Season ticket holders will get a free ticket to the exhibiton game, with tickets available for purchase as well.

Fans will be treated to some early fall-ball to start the weekend, as we inch closer to what should be a very succesful season for the Tigers basketball team.
