The Tigers got off to a near-perfect 2025-26 campaign last Thursday night when they just about blanked Central Arkansas in almost everything they could've. In the end, Mizzou defended their home field, running away with it 61-6.
It's clear that the Tigers, both fans and players, were looking past that first game, into their week two matchup versus Kansas, one of the oldest rivalries in sports. Even though its' lost some juice in the last decade or so, since Mizzou left the Big 12, the hatred these teams have for each other is unmatched.
Columbia will not only be hosting the rivarly on their home turf, but will also be home to a pair of major network shows for the weekend. The SEC Network pregame show, SEC Nation, will film their show by Mizzou's quad, led by Laura Rutledge, Tim Tebow, Roman Harper, and Jordan Rodgers, on Saturday morning.
Alongside them, on Friday in the same location, will be Paul Finebaum and his program, The Paul Finebaum Show. This just gives more reason to imagine how packed campus will be, and exciting it will be to watch.
Kansas is coming in at 2-0, tied for first within the Big 12, yet still remain 6.5 point underdogs. The Moneyline is -235 Missouri, +190 Kansas, and the Over/Under at 50.5 points. Experts are expecting an absolute battle Saturday.
The weather for kickoff looks to be a perfect 74 degree day, with sunny skys and few clouds.
The game will be broadcasted on ESPN2, but can also be seen on the ESPN mobile app, or by using Watch ESPN online.
As far as radio goes, the Tiger Radio Network will have the contest, with play-by-play by Mike Kelly, color by Howard Richards, and featuring Chris Gervino on the sideline.
Missouri leads the Border Showdown Series with an all time record of: 57-54-9, though the squads haven't faced off since the Tigers departed from the Big 12, with their last matchup being in late 2011, in what was a 24-10 win in favor of Mizzou.
The Tigers have won the last three matchups, and the Jayhawks haven't come away with a win in this rivarly since 2008. At that time, Mizzou head coach Eliah Drinkwitz was just an offensive coordinator at Springsdale high school in Arkansas.
Pre-game coverage will start in the hours before kickoff, featuring weather, injury updates, and last-second analysis, all the way up to when the highly-anticipated contest finally begins on Saturday afternoon.
