Missouri Football: Tigers land WR Jalen Knox out of Texas

Missouri football landed 3 star wide receiver Jalen Knox on Thursday, amid news of basketball schedules and talks of Auburn dreaming of a move to the SEC East.

The three star receiver from Arlington, Tex. committed to Missouri’s 2018 recruiting class. Rivals ranks Knox as the No. 15 all-purpose back and No. 88 receiver in Texas.

Knox is a speedster; according to Tod Palmer of the Kansas City Star, he ran the 100-yard dash in 10.66 seconds this spring, the 200 in 21.54 seconds, and a personal-best 52.00 in the 400.

The three-star commit turned down multiple offers from a number of respected programs, including Wisconsin, Iowa State, Oregon State, and Utah, among others.

Knox’s addition will come just in time for Mizzou, as the Tigers will be without receiver J’Mon Moore, and possibly Nate Brown.

The start times for a couple of Missouri football games were announced, including tilts against Arkansas and South Carolina.

The “Tiger 10” list is dwindling, as more recruits left Missouri for programs such as Nebraska.

There are still a few prospects considering Mizzou, which means recruiting has its work cut out if the Tigers hope to land a few more commits. So where does Missouri stand with its 2018 recruiting class?

Last year, Missouri’s offensive line took a beating at times, but this year could prove to be different. If Damerea Crockett and Ish Witter are to have a greater level of success in 2017, then the o-line must dominate.

Michael Porter, Jr. is a name we haven’t mentioned in at least a few days, but he resurfaced Thursday, stating that the Final Four isn’t enough for Missouri in 2017-18. It’s National Championship or bust, as far as MPJ is concerned.

"I’m not even looking at the NCAA tournament. I’m looking past that. I want to bring this team back to a Final Four, national championship-caliber level. I think we’re going to surprise people."

Finally, we learned that Missouri was a underachiever the first year of the post-Pinkel era. We certainly hope that changes in 2017-18.
