What Jontay Porter reclassifying could mean for Missouri basketball
Four months ago, basketball was the last thing Missouri fans wanted to discuss. However, things changed after the most insane off season in recent memory.
Mizzou basketball is back at the forefront of everyone’s interest, and now the Tigers may add another piece to the puzzle.
After landing the No. 1 player in the country in Michael Porter, Jr., two 4 star recruits in Jeremiah Tilmon and C.J. Roberts, and 3 star recruit Blake Harris, you think that would be enough for Tiger fans to be happy. However, there could be one more 5 star recruit joining Missouri on the court this year.
5 star power forward, Jontay Porter verbally committed to Mizzou and will definitely play in 2018, but may reclassify to this year and be on the court with his brother, Michael.

If Jontay plays this year, which I think he will, because Michael is most likely one-and-done, then he will not want to pass up the opportunity to play with his brother.
Reclassifying would be a huge boost for the Tigers, as he would most likely start alongside his brother and give Mizzou a terrifying starting five of all-star freshmen.
Standing at 6’10,” Jontay is a menacing presence on the court who bullies his way through defenses, rebounds efficiently, and is willing to pass the ball around to open teammates.
Jontay and his brother would be a scary dynamic duo of forwards for opponents to try to stop.

In short, Jontay Porter would be a great addition to the Tigers this year and would raise the ceiling even higher on how far this year’s team could go.
