Mizzou basketball returns home to play an NCAA Tournament team from last season.

The Mizzou basketball team comes back home tonight, and again, the Tigers will play an NCAA Tournament team. This is the second time already this season that Tigers will match up against a team that went to March Madness last season, while Mizzou also played a top-25 team in Xavier, which barely missed out on the tournament in 2018-19.

Mizzou basketball beat Northern Kentucky 71-56 in its second game of the season. A strong schedule early on is giving Mizzou basketball a solid resume down the road. For now, Mizzou needs all the wins and experience it can get.

Tonight, a Wofford basketball team is ahead of the Tigers. Here’s a look at tonight’s game:

Records: Wofford 2-2; Mizzou 2-1

Wofford is coming off a loss to future Mizzou opponent Butler 80-61 last Saturday. It will be interesting to see how the Tigers handle tonight’s opponent. Mizzou should win, but will it be a closer game?

The Terriers went to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, losing to fellow SEC member Kentucky 62-56. Wofford lost two players from that team, so the Terriers turn to a pair of seniors, Nathan Hoover and Trevor Stumpe, in hopes of leading the team back to the tournament this year. Hoover is struggling with his shot so far, so Wofford has turned to Storm Murphy as their go-to guy. The junior is knocking down 60 percent of his shots with a 62 percent 3-point mark.

Wofford is a great free-throw shooting team, so expect it to try to get to the line tonight. Mizzou can counter Wofford with its solid defense. The Tigers will try to knock down their outside shots tonight, but if they can’t, they should be able to find other ways to outscore the Terriers.
