Short answer to that question: no. One thousand times no. Imagine all of these NBA and collegiate players who have spent the majority of their lives shooting baskets with 10-foot rims, developing their jump shots specifically for those rims. If you raise the rims by six inches, you’re basically asking every basketball player in the country to re-learn how to shoot the basketball. Offensive numbers will drop, and after the NCAA Championship game we saw last March, I don’t think that is what anyone wants to deal with.
