Elvis Fisher gets a “significant knee injury” at practice today

Well, this sucks. Although the actual severity of the injury is unknown it appears that it is going to be pretty serious and there will be a good chance that he will miss a majority of the 2011 season. It appears that Justin Britt will take over at the critical position of Left Tackle who will be guarding James Franklins blind side. Fisher should be able to get a redshirt this season and bring a little bit more stability to the line next season.
This will be the 2nd year in a row that the Offensive Captain is going to be out before Week 1 (Derrick Washington). Fisher was on the preseason ESPN All- Big 12 team.
