Mizzou Cornerback to Transfer
By Ben Wilson
Cornerback Robert Steeples, who is set to be a redshirt senior in the fall, has decided to transfer from Mizzou. Steeples, a product of DeSmet High School in St. Louis, was never able to climb to the top of the depth chart at defensive back, and is listed as the second corner behind junior E.J. Gaines, whose strong campaing last year earned him the top slot over Steeples.
Listed as a three-star recruit out of high school, Steeples redshirted his freshman year, but has only started one game in the three years since. He wrapped up his career as a Tiger with 41 tackles and 8 defended passes.
Now, he must decide where he wants to spend his final year of eligibility. So far, sources say that Steeples is deciding between four schools, one of which is Memphis, but that he will not be deciding today.
