ESPN just released its Week Three Power Rankings for the SEC. ESPN’s Edward Aschoff has the Missouri Tigers ranked 10th out of the 14 SEC teams in Week Three, keeping the Tigers in the same spot as last week. I think Aschoff did a good job with the rankings for now; they are still going to change a lot as we learn more about teams during the meat of the SEC schedule. I would probably have A&M down a slot, because I wasn’t impressed at all with their defense against Alabama on Saturday.

After defeating Murray State and Toledo in Weeks 1 and 2, the Tigers sit at 2-0 heading into a litmus test game on the road against the Indiana Hoosiers. Indiana is 2-1 right now, and the Tigers should be able to take care of the Hoosiers on the road. A win wouldn’t raise Mizzou in the SEC ranks more than a spot or two, but a loss would surely drop them back to 12th or 13th behind Tennessee.

ESPN SEC Power Ranks
1) Alabama (2-0)
2) LSU (3-0)
3) Texas A&M (2-1)
4) Georgia (1-1)
5) South Carolina (2-1)
6) Ole Miss (3-0)
7) Florida (1-1)
8) Auburn (3-0)
9) Vanderbilt (2-1)
10) Missouri (2-0)
11) Arkansas (3-0)
12) Tennessee (2-1)
13) Mississippi State (1-2)
14) Kentucky (1-2)

Here is what Aschoff had to say about the Missouri Tigers-
“The offense is healthy and the Tigers even got a nice bye week before they travel to Indiana to take on the Hoosiers. The offense has been impressive through two games, averaging 539 yards and 48 points per game, but the competition has been subpar. Indiana’s defense, which is allowing 410 yards and nearly 30 points a game, should keep Mizzou’s offensive momentum going.”
