Missouri Tigers Former Players Shine In NFL Pro Day
By Derek Franks
As the excitement of offseason football rolls on, all eyes have been on a few Missouri Tigers’ former players, who have been up to some pretty astounding things during their “tryouts” for the NFL.
On NFL Pro Day, the day in which college players can strut their stuff in front of scouts from all 32 NFL teams in Columbia, 14 former Mizzou player showed off what they could do on the football field. The day included a laundry list of drills, races, jumps, leaps and everything short of actual football.
These drills observed included but were not limited to, the 225-pound bench press, the 40-yard dash, the 3-cone agility test, the standing broad jump, the vertical jump, the I-Test and a smorgasbord of various other positional skill drills. These players brought their best work, impressing judges and making sure their name was remembered with the impending NFL draft coming up late next month.

Reigning SEC defensive player of the year Shane Ray posted a 4.68 40-yard dash and bested all but one of his fellow Missouri Tigers Former players on the long jump.
Personal best performances came from players like Markus Golden on the 40-yard dash (4.66 seconds), Lucas Vincent on the broad jump (9.3 feet) and the 225-pound bench press (17 pounds), and Marcus Murphy on the 225-pound bench press (14 reps).
The most impressive feat may have come from former Tiger star receiver Bud Sasser, who ran 40-yard dash in just 4.5 seconds.
Hopefully these numbers were enough to convince scouts that the athleticism is there for these Missouri Tigers former players that might give them a shot in the big leagues.
Other MizzouMade players that participated were Christian Brinser, David Butler, Jimmie Hunt, Mitch Morse, Gavin Otte, Darvin Ruise, Duron Singleton, Braylon Webb and Darius White .
The NFL Draft will be held April 28-May 2 in Chicago, Illinois.
