In 2007, he was awarded the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year, and led the Tigers to a historic 12-2 record during the 2007-08 season, which ended in a 38-7 Cotton Bowl win over the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Daniel also broke multiple school passing records set by previous quarterbacks.
According to ProFootballTalk, details of his newly-minted contract include up-to $3,000,000 in incentives, and the rest of his $4.1 million contract from the Eagles.
While Daniel will turn 31 in the fall, he is slightly younger than Saints legend and signal-caller Drew Brees. It is likely that he weighed his offers from other teams and decided to return to a system and coaching staff which he is familiar, and the added possibility that he may succeed Brees, at some point.
With Daniel’s success as the starting quarterback at Missouri, fans know that with his talent, experience, and leadership, it would come as no surprise to see Daniel given the opportunity to start.
