On April 11, the University of Missouri athletics department learned of the loss of one of its own, as a result of a most tragic situation.

More from Truman's Tales

Writing about the loss of life is never easy. I’d rather write about a zero-win season any day than face the real mortality that we all live.

On April 1, former wrestler B.J. Toal was involved in a car accident, which he did not survive.

According to MUTigers.com, “Toal, 24 years old, was a member of the TigerStyle family for a long time, and forever will be.”

While Toal had a successful high school career, injuries hindered his success while at Mizzou.

Toal also dedicated time to coaching wrestling, and helping others reach their full potential.
