On Saturday evening, the long-awaited decision of ninth-ranked, 5-star recruit Kevin Knox finally concluded, as he decided on Kentucky.

Minds were blown when Knox committed to Kentucky. Not because he didn’t commit to Missouri, but because he left Duke and Carolina on the table.

Congratulations to Kentucky head coach John Calipari. Now that Knox’s decision has been made, fans and the Missouri coaching staff will await decisions from Jontay Porter and Jeremiah Tilmon.

As if to add an interesting twist on his announcement, Knox made use of the tiger emojis, rather than the cat ones. Oh, well. I look forward to seeing the Tigers take on the Wildcats next fall.

Missouri softball was back in action on Friday night and Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately, the Tigers were on the wrong end of the final score, as they lost 6-0 Friday evening, and 12-4 Saturday afternoon.

More from Truman's Tales

Sunday will wrap-up the regular season for the Tigers, as they will try to salvage some respect and walk away with a win.

In Nashville, baseball earned its first win against Vanderbilt! After losing 5-2 to Vandy on Friday night, the Tigers went into extra innings on Saturday, and eked out a 2-1 win.

With the series split, Mizzou will try to take the series from Vanderbilt on Sunday. Game time is at 1:00 PM, CT.

Hopping into the time machine, we learn that Missouri almost didn’t give former head coach Don Faurot a second chance. Thankfully, Mizzou brought Faurot back to restore the football program.

With the recent departure of defensive end Charles Harris to the NFL, Missouri’s senior defensive end Jordan Harold is eager to step into a starting role and be more than a novelty.

Speaking of the NFL Draft, here’s a look at some prospective Missouri talent that could be headed to the NFL in 2018.

Meanwhile, Missouri Volleyball’s Melanie Crow was named 2017 NSCA All-American.

The red-shirt junior form Wildwood, MO received the award, which recognizes student-athletes’ athletic accomplishments and dedication to the field of strength and conditioning.

Finally, with the Kevin Knox sweepstakes over, we can still take comfort that Missouri has the No. 1 recruit in the 2017 class committed to the program. Michael Porter, Jr. embraces lofty expectations.
