Missouri’s 2017 football schedule includes the usual gauntlet of SEC opponents, and some intriguing non-conference games, as well – good enough for six wins.

First, I have a moral duty of admission to make, in the form of a self-serving of humble pie.

As fans, we are all susceptible to being caught in the crosshairs of emotion and general fandom. I own my faux pas, in which I doubted qualified information about Kevin Knox. Gabe DeArmond, I stand corrected.

Now for some headlines that are making news for Mizzou, today.

Missouri’s football schedule includes two home games against non-conference opponents Missouri State and Purdue, and a road trip to play UConn.

Last year, Mizzou finished with 4-8 record, and missed any shot of a bowl game.

On Sunday, Missouri football also missed-out on one if its top-10 class of 2018 recruiting targets. St. Louis wide receiver Cameron Brown committed to Nebraska. For now, that leaves nine highly-desired prospects for Missouri.

Continuing with news from the gridiron, the Tigers began their 2018 recruiting class with a dual-threat quarterback. The three-star quarterback James Foster from Lanier, Ala., will give the Tigers an added dynamic for defenses to game plan against. Missouri also has six uncommitted prospects on its short list.

Missouri wrestling is arguably one of the top programs in the country, if not the best, at times. The Maneater breaks-down the success of Mizzou wrestling, and it all starts from the top in head coach Brian Smith, who is in his 19th season.

This weekend, softball wrapped-up its season while baseball finished a conference series at Vanderbilt.

Missouri entered Sunday’s softball game 0-2 against Ole Miss, and was looking to salvage one win from the series. The Tigers were able to produce a win late in the game.

Mizzou now prepares for the SEC Tournament, which has the 11th-ranked Tigers facing No. 6 LSU at 6:30 PM on Wednesday.

Finally, baseball was not as successful in its attempt to thwart a win and take the series from Vanderbilt in Sunday’s rubber game. Missouri, which won its first game against Vandy on Saturday night, fell to the Commodores 14-5.

Next for Missouri baseball is a home series against South Carolina, and then a game against Eastern Kentucky. The season will close with a road series at Tennessee.
