Mizzou News: Legendary basketball coach Norm Stewart will get a statue
Missouri basketball’s winningest coach, the legendary Norm Stewart, will be immortalized outside of Mizzou Arena by the start of the 2017 basketball season.
Stewart, who coached Missouri basketball through much of its glory days, will be honored before the start of what many fans are hoping will be the beginning of Missouri’s return to dominance.
If you think that’s too strong a phrase, then from 1967-1999, save a lack of championships, Missouri dominated under Stewart almost every year.
During his tenure at Mizzou, Stewart led the Tigers to eight Big Eight championships and 16 NCAA Tournament appearances, of which three advanced to the Elite Eight, after which the basketball court was named after him, recognizing his coaching brilliance.
Missouri may not be the measuring stick for success compared to other programs when it comes to its athletes being selected in the NFL Draft, but the Tigers have had measured amounts of success in so doing over the years.
Currently, there are a handful of guys who are starting on NFL rosters, and making an impact. Here are the top five.

Speaking of former Tigers in the NFL, Charles Harris has received at least one unanimous request from Dolphins fans.
If you’re like most NFL fans, then you probably don’t have any qualms with Harris making good on those pleas.
While we’re on the subject, Harris almost went higher in the NFL Draft, to another AFC team.
While Dallas was hopeful that he would fall to No. 28, the Miami Dolphins wound-up taking him at 22.
This evening, baseball will be in Knoxville to play its last conference series of the season.
SEC Tournament implications are at stake here; the Tigers could finish the season with the third seed, but will be placed at no less than the sixth seed in the SEC East.
The top 12 teams in the SEC are seeded, which means that Missouri could place anywhere from 12th to 8th overall in the tournament.
