Missouri baseball started playing its best when it counted most: SEC Tournament time. In Tuesday’s elimination round, Mizzou defeated Texas A&M, 12-7.

Today’s Missouri links are fairly short, but filled with action. Missouri baseball lives to see another round of action in the SEC tournament, and a little more insight on recent basketball commit, Jontay Porter.

With its recent win over Texas A&M on Tuesday afternoon, the Aggies were eliminated from the SEC Tournament. Understandably, coach Steve Bieser is proud of his team’s efforts and success.

"I’ve said many times already, I’m just very proud of this group because we’ve had some ups and downs this year. We started off really well, scuffled there through the middle. Being able to get that back what we had early on, that means a lot to me. … Nobody here wanted their season to be over and that’s a nice feeling to have this time of year."

Next-up for Mizzou is the No. 2 LSU Tigers. Opening pitch is this evening at 4:30. The game can be seen on SEC Network, or you can listen in on KTGR.

More from Truman's Tales

While baseball has seen recent success, basketball is really getting fired-up for 2017.

Five-star recruit, Jontay Porter, committed to play for Missouri on Monday night, but his intentions to play in 2017 or 2018 are not clear, at this point.

The indications are that he may be leaning toward re-classifying to play in 2017, but in the meantime it will be fun to watch this play-out.

"It could be tomorrow. It could be next week. It could be after the Peach Jam (in July). I’ll be sure to let (the media) know.I know what my decision could be but I don’t want to tell anyone yet, because I want to pray about it and talk to my family about it and make sure it’s the right decision for me before letting anyone else know."

It’s a very exciting time to be a Missouri hoops fan. Rest assured, Porter will decide his intention, soon.

Finally, an update that drew the ire of many students and some fans, on the status of the football team switching sidelines, and the SEC’s requirement of relocating the student section, so as not to be a disruption to the visiting team.
