Today Missouri joins Alabama, Kentucky and Texas A&M for SEC Media Day. Here are some talking points we can expect from head coach Barry Odom.

Probably the biggest question facing the Missouri Tigers football team this year, is its ability on defense. Last year, the Tigers finished the season strong, and fans were hopeful that the momentum would carry-over to 2017.

Charles Harris, one of Mizzou’s biggest contributors on the defensive line was drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft in May, which left a big hole to fill.

The Tigers are hoping to have an answer to Harris’ absence on the roster, which could come in the form of Marcell Frazier. While Frazier stated he won’t take part in local media interviews, it won’t effect his productivity  on the field.

The state of recruiting will also be a big question for Coach Odom, since Missouri hasn’t succeeded in landing big recruits from its own state this year.

Ordinarily, failing to keep all in-state recruits isn’t a big deal, but the question begs to be asked, since Odom and the athletic department pitched the “Tiger 10” and retaining in-state recruits.

Missouri has otherwise done well enough in landing commitments from out-of-state recruits – James Foster (QB, Alabama), Jalen Knox (Ath) and Danny Gray (WR) (Texas), Tyrone Collins (CB, Florida), and Harry Ballard (WR, Mississippi) make up the 2018 recruiting class, to date.

Beyond those two main points, we can also expect plenty of Alabama talk – they are, after all, the elephant in the room. Crazy fans, more “Mizzou isn’t SEC” chatter, and plenty of good football talk from all the coaches.
