247Sports believes Mizzou football will be going bowling. Yeah, you can bank on six wins, but eligibility is the main issue.

Preseason rankings and bowl projections are getting underway as we are just days away from training camp.

247Sports released its preseason bowl projections Monday. The folks over there released matchups for all 39 contests, and the Missouri Tigers found their way in.

That’s not surprising. Mizzou football is easily projected to win eight or more games this season.

But with the cloud of the postseason ban hanging over the Tigers’ heads, some projections could leave Mizzou out completely. So far, that isn’t happening.

And the bowl that Mizzou is projected to be at: It’s a New Year’s Day game against Wisconsin in Tampa Bay.

The Outback Bowl.

"For this to happen, we’re projecting that Mizzou wins its appeal before the NCAA Infractions Committee and the Tigers’ 2019 bowl ban is lifted. And here’s to a bounceback season from the Badgers with potential Heisman finalist Jonathan Taylor eclipsing the 2,000-yard plateau before heading to the NFL."

Missouri never has played in the Outback Bowl, which dates back to 1986. Of course, it mostly has featured the Big 10 against the SEC, and Mizzou only has been in the SEC for eight seasons now.

Jan. 1 is a Wednesday and will feature five bowl games, including the Citrus Bowl, Orange Bowl, Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl. The semifinal games are set to take place the weekend before New Year’s Day on Saturday, Dec. 28.

You’ll never guess who 247 projects to play in the national championship game. (It actually might take you a couple tries).
