SEC Nation announces it will take its show to Mizzou.

The home opener just got a little better.

SEC Network’s show “SEC Nation” announced Monday that it will head to Columbia for Week 2 when the Missouri Tigers take on the West Virginia Mountaineers.

The show will be set up on the West Lawn of the Hearnes Center and will air from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., right up until kickoff as the game is slated for a morning time slot on on ESPN.

The traveling pregame show is hosted by Laura Rutledge with analysts Tim Tebow, Marcus Spears, Paul Finebaum and Marty Smith also on set.

Mizzou will host Finebaum on Friday for the “Paul Finebaum Show,” which will air from 2 to 6 p.m. That also will be on the West Lawn of the Hearnes Center.

The ESPN personalities will have plenty to talk about as they come to CoMo for the game.

Missouri should be 1-0 and on schedule to open its year on a big winning streak. West Virginia is in a bit of a rebuilding mode, but it’s a Power 5 school that hopes to upset the Tigers on their own campus.

It’s a great time for the SEC Network team to dig into if Missouri is a real threat to the conference this season.

This will be the fourth time “SEC Nation” finds itself on the campus of the Missouri Tigers. The last time the show was in Missouri was for a Week 2 South Carolina game in 2017. Missouri, which enters the season unranked but right outside of the Associated Press Top 25, could sneak right into the rankings after its Week 1 game at Wyoming. That remains to be seen.

West Virginia also received votes in the poll, but only three so it should not be ranked by Week 2.

The Week 1 site for “SEC Nation” will be at Vanderbilt for an opening season matchup between the Commodores and the No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs. It is the only conference game in Week 1.
