Mizzou football has some exciting Week 1 games over the years, and some games that set the tone for an exciting season.

We now are just a day away from kickoff of the Mizzou football 2019 college football season. And it should be a good one.

Missouri has a chance to be a special team this season, and the Tigers believe they will be in the conversation to unseat SEC East foe Georgia. Saturday night’s game against Wyoming is the beginning of the year, a rare road outing to start this year’s campaign.

Mizzou is close to a 20-point favorite, and the backups should be in during the fourth quarter if the Tigers prove to be too tough for the Cowboys. But that hasn’t been the case in some of the other openers.

Some of Mizzou’s opening-season games have been some of its best. Mizzou has topped nationally ranked teams over the years and have gone on to have great seasons because of an exciting beginning to the year.

A lot of the openers were duds, but even some of those set the pace for what would lie ahead for the black and gold.
