Mizzou football will hold a press conference Tuesday to introduce the new Tigers coach.

The Mizzou football team has a new coach, and the university will introduce that coach Tuesday.

Mizzou Athletics announced an introductory press conference will be held at 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, located at the Show Me Club in the South End Zone of Memorial Stadium.

The Tigers haven’t officially announced who will be hired to lead Mizzou football in 2020, but the team will introduce Eli Drinkwitz as the new coach Tuesday. Drinkwitz coached Appalachian State in 2019, leading the Mountaineers to a 12-1 record.

Rumors swirled throughout Sunday that the Tigers and Drinkwitz were close to a deal. By Sunday evening, most reports were that the two reached an agreement. Ahead of Tuesday’s press conference, the Mizzou curators board will approve the hire of Drinkwitz. They will meet at 8 a.m. to formally approve the contract.
