The next four

Missouri 69, No. 21 Kentucky 60, Feb. 3, 2018

Missouri beat Kentucky for the first time in school history. That’s all you need to know about this game. But it also gave the Tigers a much-needed marquee victory as Mizzou was flirting around the bubble for much of conference play. Jordan Barnett and Kassius Robertson each scored 16 points to lead Mizzou, but it was the defense of those two along with the rest of the team that halted Kentucky for the first time in 11 tries.

Missouri 86, Clemson 78, March 20, 2010

Missouri, a 10 seed, upset No. 7-seeded Clemson for a first-round win in the 2010 NCAA Tournament. The Tigers made plenty of plays to cruise by the higher seed after a 39-39 halftime score. Mizzou’s Kim English and Keith Ramsey scored 20 points to send Mizzou to the second round. There, the Tigers lost a close game to future Final Four’er West Virginia. This came a year after an Elite 8 finish in the tournament.

No. 5 Missouri 90, No. 12 Baylor 75, March 11, 2012

Missouri basketball made sure it was leaving the Big 12 as champions. The Tigers cursed to a third win over tough-opponent Baylor, this time at Sprint Center in the Big 12 Tournament championship game. The Tigers wanted a rubber match against Kansas, but the Jayhawks were beaten by the Bears, so instead, Mizzou settled for the Texas squad. Kim English’s 19 points paired well with Phil Pressey’s 15 points and eight assists as Mizzou was pushing for a No. 1 seed in the tournament.

No. 5 Missouri 89, No. 3 Baylor 88, Jan. 21, 2012

Mizzou’s first game against Baylor that season was the best. The game lived up to the hype as the pair of top-five teams went back-and-forth until the end. Ricardo Ratliffe scored 27 points and was 11 of 14 shooting. Marcus Denmon iced the game with free throws and the Tigers left Baylor with a one-point win. Mizzou also defeated No. 6 Baylor at home three weeks later by double digits before knocking off the No. 12 Bears in the Big 12 championship.
