Backup QB: Connor Bazelak- 6’4″, 200 lbs (RS Fr.)

Connor Bazelak has a chance to be the starting quarterback next fall, but it seems more likely that he will be second string. He flashed some potential in his limited snaps last season, and he is expected to recover from a torn ACL in time for the season.

Bazelak came to Mizzou as a four-star pro-style quarterback out of Ohio. He red-shirted last year but still got a few chances to show off his talents.

Bazelak reminds me somewhat of Drew Lock. He has a big arm and the game comes naturally to him. Of his 23 throws last season, 17 were deemed “on target” while 15 were completed. If his accuracy improves and catches up with his arm strength, he could challenge for the starting spot.

However, there is one name left that is expected to be under center for Mizzou in the fall.
