Marching Mizzou marches into Arrowhead Stadium on September 15th.

For the first time in five years, the Missouri Marching Band, Marching Mizzou will play the Halftime Show at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, MO.

Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers will head to Arrowhead Stadium to face Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday Night Football in this primetime division game. A game many are calling the game of the week. Two of the best quarterbacks and MVP candidates in the National Football League will go head-to-head on Thursday night.

Not only is this a prime-time game that will have a big impact on the AFC West division, but it is also the Kansas City Chiefs home opener. To be a part of it, is a huge honor for all involved.

Marching Mizzou, a staple and central part of Missouri athletics, will take center stage at half, and is set to put on a display for 76,000 people in this sold out event. The Missouri band features 350 students, including a full Color Guard, Drumline, Twirlers, and the Golden Girls. The halftime routine is expected to last roughly seven minutes.

Marching Mizzou continues it’s rich history of playing big events

Also known as M2 or Big M of the Midwest, the Missouri Marching Band is the largest student organization on the Missouri campus. The MU band has sent students to a plethora of bowl games, Ireland, The White House and on November 24, 2022 Marching Mizzou will perform at the 96th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The university also sends a small group, Mini Mizzou to at least two away games each season. This year’s trip to Arrowhead Stadium is yet another tremendous accomplishment for Marching Mizzou.

Teaching Professor, Associate Director of Bands and Director of Athletic Bands, Amy M. Knopps said:

"“I am thrilled for our students to have earned this coveted invitation. It speaks to the history and tradition of excellence patrons have grown to expect from Marching Mizzou. Special memories will be created (next) Thursday evening, and our students in Marching Mizzou will reflect on the time that they marched at halftime in Arrowhead Stadium this year and hold those memories close to the, for years to come.”"
