Hated SEC rival is already looking to flip Missouri's newest commit

Last week Missouri landed two committments on the same day, but it looks like one of those may already be on some uneven footing.

The Tigers earned commitments from both tight end Jack Brown and wide receiver Chris Harris Jr., but the Alabama Crimson Tide is already snooping around the latter. According to Greg Smith of Rivals, Harris is intrigued by Alabama, and the Tide are making a strong push to flip the speedy receiver.

“I want to see what makes them (Alabama) a winning program," said Harris.

Mizzou commit Chris Harris Jr. may be at risk of getting lured over to Alabama

Eli Drinkwitz and the Tigers got some great news when 4.3 speed receiver Harris committed to Missouri, but they'll now have to fight off other potential suitors. Harris still has an official visit to Alabama lined up from even before he committed to Mizzou, but it looks like he intends to keep it. The local product is the No. 5 rated player in the state of Missouri.

Losing Harris would certainly hurt, as the Tigers' 2027 class is off to a nice start. The 16th ranked class in the country now has six commits, led by four-star tight end Brown. Harris put up over 2,000 all-purpose yards as a junior this past season, and was recently clocked with 4.36 speed at the UA Next Camp in St. Louis.

Ultimately, the Alabama visit could just be some due diligence from Harris, who hails from Missouri. Still, it's a bit unnerving one of the top programs in the country has their eyes set on one of Mizzou's top recruits so far. A commitment is nice, but until recruits sign on that dotted line, no one is safe, and Drinkwitz and company might have their work cut out for them here.
