We interrupt your NCAA Tourament coverage for some great news for Eli Drinkwitz and Missouri football. The Tigers just earned a huge commitment for 2027, landing a four-star in-state tight end.

According to Hayes Fawcett, tight end Jack Brown has committed to Missouri. The St. Charles native is the No. 1 recruit in the state and a top-100 prospect in the country based on 247Sport's composite rankings. It's a huge get for Drinkwitz and company who land their fourth, and highest-rated, recruit of 2027.

Mizzou went back to well for this one as Brown attends the same high school that current tight end Brett Norfleet attended.

Missouri gets on the board with the first four-star recruit of the year

The 6-foot-5, 220-pound tight end chose the Tigers over Kansas State, Illinois, and Arizona State, opting to stay at home and play for Missouri. It's a nice first win for newly appointed tight ends coach Alex Atkins, who Mizzou brought in this offseason and is already making an impact. The commitment of Brown likely means the Tigers' bid for five-star tight end Ahmad Hudson is over, although Brown is quite the prize himself.

With the addition of Brown, the Tigers have the 23rd ranked class for 2027. While it's still early, Mizzou has earned commitments from three-star quarterback Braylen Warren, three-star offensive lineman Lual Aleu, and with three-star safety Jabarri Lofton.

Meanwhile, Mizzou is still active in the pursuit of receivers Chris Harris Jr. and Lawrence Britt, and could get a commitment from one or both in the coming weeks.
