The Tigers are about to lose another four-star recruit from their 2025 class, and for the second time, it's a running back.
Freshman running back Marquise Davis intends to enter the transfer portal according to Hayes Fawcett.

Mizzou sees both running backs of the 2025 class leave after one season
With Davis now joining Brenden Haygood in the portal, both of the running backs from the 2025 class will be gone from Missouri. Davis was the No. 162 overall recruit in the class of 2025, and the No. 11 running back. He was originally committed to Kentucky before flipping to Eli Drinkwitz and the Tigers.
Missouri boasts one of the top running backs in the country in Ahmad Hardy, so it's not too surprising to see other backs entering the portal. Jamal Roberts also has the backup role locked down, so there weren't going to be many opportunities for the Davis to see the field more in 2026. He finished 2025 with 34 carries for 200 yards and two touchdowns.
With two backs now gone, the Tigers may need to turn their own attention to the portal to secure some contingencies in case of injury to Hardy or Roberts. Mizzou has just one running back signee in the 2026 class -- three star Maxwell Warner. The list of needs is slowly increasing for Drinkwitz and company as trasfers may not be done just yet.
Davis is just the fourth Tiger to enter the portal. Haygood, Caleb Flagg, and James Madison II round out the quartet of newly departed players.
