Drew Lock was projected to go in the first round of the 2019 draft as a top quarterback. He ended up sliding to the second round where the Broncos picked him up, hoping to find their future quarterback. Lock sat his first year and learned, but was called upon towards the end of the season and played well enough to earn the starting position in his second year.
Lock was underwhelming in his second season throwing a league-leading 15 interceptions and only 16 touchdown passes. Then in what would end up being his last season in Denver, Lock playing in just six games, starting three before getting benched.
Denver then traded Drew Lock to Seattle for Russell Wilson in what would be a monster trade that did not end well for the Broncos. Lock seemed poised to take over in Seattle until Geno Smith swooped in a took the starting job.
While Lock may have not been a first-round pick, there were high hopes for his NFL career and it has not lived up to the hype just yet.
