3 Worst head coach hires in Missouri football history
Don Faurot had the football stadium named after him and will go down as one of the best coaches in Missouri football history. However, what about the coaches that didn't pan out?
I really had to look far into Missouri football history to find this one, but Frank Carideo. Carideo had the worst win percentage in Missouri football history winning just two games in a three-season span. However, what came out of the firing of Carideo was the hiring of Don Faurot, one of the best coaches in Missouri football history.
Here is a breakdown of Carideo's time with Missouri.
- 1932: 1-7-1, 1-3-1 conference
- 1933: 1-8, 0-5 conference
- 1934: 0-8-1, 0-5 conference
Carideo went winless in conference play in his final two seasons with the Tigers and did not record a win in his final season as a whole. Carideo was fired at the 1934 season and replaced by Don Faurot.
