Greatest NFL careers in Missouri football history
Justin Smith was a defensive end drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the first round of the 2001 NFL Draft as the fourth overall pick. Smith lived up to the hype of being a high draft pick. His time in Cincinnati may not be as appreciated because the time he was there, the Bengals were not good.
In his seven seasons with the Bengals, Smith started every single game except for four games in his rookie season. He recorded two interceptions, six forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries, and 43.5 sacks. After seven years with the Bengals, Smith moved on to another team and decided to go across the country to San Francisco to join the 49ers.
Smith's career with the Niners was almost identical to his career with the Bengals. He started every single game for the Niners and recorded one interception, 10 forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries, and 43.5 sacks.
In his career, Smith was a five-time Pro Bowler, named a First Team All-Pro in 2011 and Second Team All-Pro in 2012 and 2013. After the 2014 season, Smith decided to call it a career and retire. He goes down as one of the greatest Missouri Tigers to play in the NFL.
