Ennis Rakestraw Jr. has always been high on draft boards and is a top-10 cornerback on Mel Kiper Jr.'s most recent draft board. Rakestraw has speed and the ability to mirror routes that give him a great upside on any defense. He gives a little too much cushion in man defense, but his speed gives him the ability to recover.

Todd Bowles is a defensive coach through and through. He builds his defenses using competitive and tough guys who put in the work every day. Bowles likes to have speed on the outside when covering in both zone and man coverage.

Rakestraw fits exactly what Bowles typically likes in his defense. He is scrappy, fast, and plays tough, and could have a bright future on the Tampa Bay defense.
