Former assistant basketball coach Brad Loos will be returning to the University of Missouri as the new Senior Associate Athletics Director of Development. With his extensive experience in building relationships over the years, Loos appears to be the ideal candidate for this role.

The last time Loos was in Columbia, MO, he served as the assistant men's basketball coach from 2014 to 2017. After his coaching career, he worked with the Tiger Scholarship Fund from 2017 to 2023 until he received an offer he couldn't refuse. Last year, Loos took on a new challenge at the University of Memphis, where he served as their Chief Revenue Officer and Senior Associate Athletics Director.

As Senior Associate Athletics Director of Development, Loos will be responsible for leveraging his relationships to raise funds philanthropically for the athletics department. Mizzou's Athletic Director, Laird Veatch, worked with Loos over the past year at Memphis. The two built a strong relationship, and Veatch trusts in Loos' proven track record.

""His passion for Mizzou is apparent, and his proven ability to cultivate strong donor relationships makes him an invaluable asset to our team. We look forward to the positive impact he will undoubtedly bring in his new role.""

In a statement made on X (formerly twitter), Loos said, "Extremely tough to leave Memphis… but so excited to be back home."

This move seems like a no-brainer, as Loos has always had a special place in his heart for Mizzou athletics. In this new capacity, he'll aim to help the program continue to grow. Loos appears to be the perfect fit for this position.

It will be interesting to see how the newly structured athletic department operates under different leadership. With the significant changes NIL has brought to college sports in recent years, Missouri is poised for success. The key will be capitalizing on current market opportunities. The future looks bright for Mizzou sports, and the hiring of Loos should provide additional support in achieving their goals.
