Sam Horn has some serious decisions to make in the imminent future.

With baseball season now behind him, Horn will shift his focus to football, where he’s set to compete for Missouri’s starting quarterback job in fall camp.

Just a couple of months ago, Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz made it clear he wouldn’t be naming a starting quarterback at the conclusion of spring camp.

“It was clear to us after probably the first week and a half of spring that the competition is between Beau (Pribula) and Sam (Horn),” Drinkwitz said Tuesday. “And those two guys will be the primary two pushing to be the starting quarterback.”

While pushing to win Missouri’s starting quarterback job this season, Horn is also drawing attention as a potential MLB Draft pick next year.

Despite logging just 15 innings this season and coming off season-ending arm surgery a year ago, Horn was ranked No. 124 on MLB Pipeline’s list of top prospects for the 2025 draft.

This development could complicate Horn’s availability at quarterback, as he may be forced to choose between football and baseball sooner than expected.

With the MLB Draft set for July 13, all eyes will be on whether Horn gets selected — and what decisions he’ll make about his future in both sports.
